OnondagaNation.org

In 2005, our Nation was in the beginning process of suing the state of New York for the taking of our traditional lands. We wanted to share the information about the land rights lawsuit and share about who we are as Onondaga people. So I learned basic html and photoshop and began organizing the Nation webpage. My father was a great help as we would go driving on lacrosse trips, we would talk about what we should share for the site. When finished, I was ready for the world to see OnondagaNation.org for the big news conference in March. That was a bittersweet moment as just a few months earlier my father had a stroke and wasn’t able to attend the news conference as he was still in the hospital. Today, I still continue to write and maintain the site and share news about the Onondaga Nation.

After the success of the Onondaga Nation website, I then published the Nation’s lacrosse team’s website, Redhawkslax.com the following year. I was still playing for our men's team so it was fun reporting on the games that I played in. Lacrosse is a huge part of our culture and I enjoy that I’m able to share about our game in our community.
